I seriously love creative energy and making things with my hands, learning new techniques, and exploring visual arts in many forms. My parents are both very creative people, and I owe them both a huge debt of gratitude for allowing me to join in with whatever craft/art they dabbled in when I was young. They helped foster my true visions of whatever I could create, and helped bring them to life for me. My etsy shop started out with lots of varied things I had made - wall hangings, jewelry, wool felt pincushions, and one of my favorites, covered journals. I still work with needle and thread whenever I can, make quilts, knit and crochet, re-do old wood frames and furniture, create mixed media art and make jewelry. I have a serious love and reverence for old and worn things, and am the family repository of old family photos, keepsakes and memorabilia. My shop has evolved into selling mainly tags and notecards of my images, along with my covered journals, which became an easy way for me to showcase my little bitty works of art - digital creations made from vintage images gathered along the way. Its great fun and a continuing challenge to combine vintage images with other elements to come up with a beautiful new collage.
Currently I have set up a supply shop with my sister, Sarah, in which we will attempt a long over-due destash of our expansive mass of fabric, supplies and vintage items. That shop is SalvageAndScrunchly.etsy.com, and we are open now. We currently also have macrame and gemstone bracelets for sale there, in our creative overflow section.
